Hunters Point Parks Conservancy will celebrate the Waterfront Alliance's City of Water Day at Hunter's Point South Park by conducting a tour of one of the newest and most resilient waterfront parks in the country with park designers from SWA/Balsey and Weiss/Manfredi and community leaders from the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy! Participants will gather at LIC Landing in Hunter's Point South Park for a discussion on the park design process, including how the designers worked to meet WEDG requirements as set by the Waterfront Alliance. A tour of the park and its many impressive ecological and resilient design features will follow. Participants will engage with the waterfront by learning about the importance of resilient waterfront design in mitigating climate change effects and how parks can be an extremely effective tool in this effort.
