Rediscover Drawing and Painting in Gantry Plaza State Park
Remember how much you loved to draw and paint as a kid? Join us this Sunday to experience a fun, relaxing, non-competitive, skills-based workshop right here in Gantry Plaza State Park!
This is a FREE event hosted by award-winning artist Lori Sanford-Ross, with FREE artist-grade art materials you can keep. You’ll receive watercolor pencils, an AquaBrush, cold-press watercolor paper and more! Learn how to make “art on the go” while enjoying the beauty of Gantry Park or any time you are in nature.
You’ll have the option to receive some low-key instruction OR just use the materials with no instruction at all. Whatever makes you comfortable! This is an opportunity to get back to the artist you once were or would like to be again. Come join us and do a little PARK ART!
Attendance is limited due to Covid-19, so registration is suggested. This event is open to seniors, adults, teens, and kids over 8. NOTE: If registration is full, please stop by around 2:30pm. We will do our best to accommodate you!
The class will be held at the picnic tables near the Ranger Station and the rest rooms in Gantry Plaza State Park, adjacent to 47th Avenue and Center Boulevard.
This program made possible by the New York City Artist Corps. Special thanks to New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Blick Art Materials.
