Fishing at the Gantries!

Saturdays, October 2nd, 9th and 16th
Session 1: 10:00-10:45am
Session 2: 11:00-11:45am
Session 3: 12:00-12:45pm

Learn the basics of rod and reel fishing and help us collect valuable data for the East River Fish Project to support conservation efforts in the East River! 
 
All ages. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Whether you're an experienced angler or a first time fisher, come discover the East River's catch of the day!

About this event

Who: All Ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

What: Learn the basics of catch-and-release rod and reel fishing and help us collect valuable fish and water quality data for the East River Fish Project to support conservation efforts in the East River!

All materials will be provided at this FREE fishing clinic.

Where: Fishing Clinics will take place at Gantry Plaza State Park on the Fishing Pier (Pier 4) by the intersection of Center Blvd and 50th Ave.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19:

In keeping with NYSDEC's mandatory safety guidelines to conduct a free fishing clinic, we have divided the program into three sessions. Each session will be limited to 10 people. To allow space for as many people as possible, we ask that you please only register for one session per program.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our staff and participants, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:

  • A mask covering nose and mouth must be worn at all times.

  • Pre-registration through Eventbrite is required. Tickets are required for ALL people attending the event (INCLUDING caregivers and babies), regardless of whether or not they are fishing. Please reserve one ticket per person.

  • A minimum of six feet must be maintained between instructors and participants.

  • A minimum of six feet must be maintained between participants except those that are of immediate family.
