I Love My Park Day, held the first Saturday in May, attracts thousands of volunteers from across the state to participate in cleanup, improvement, and beautification events at New York State parks and historic sites. Join us to celebrate New York's park system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trail and wildlife habitat, removing invasive species, and working on various site improvement projects. Meeting Location for all Projects: Meet at the Main Plaza under the Long Island Sign. It's on Center Boulevard between 48th and 49th avenue.
Ages: All ages welcome

Project 1: Clean, remove trash and weeds from the park / walk and pick then focus on the Community Gardens
Additional tools: work gloves, picks, trash bags, goggles

Project 2: Trash removal from the area surrounding the Center Boulevard dog run and respread the stones.
Additional tools: trash bags, rakes, work gloves

Project 3: Mulch around the athletic field, clean and remove trash surrounding and within the field.
Additional tools: Trash bags, work gloves, goggles.

Project 4: Trash removal, leaf removal, clean and respread stones
Location: Vernon Dog Run and Basketball Courts
Tools: trash bags, rakes, work gloves, picks

Project 5: Mulch the area, trash removal, clean and cut overgrown branches.
Location: Plaza Garden
