On Monday, June 14 from 4-6pm, the Conservancy will be hosting the new captain of the 108 Precinct, Captain Lavonda Wise, at LIC Landing in Hunter's Point South Park.

This will be an informal occasion that will give residents an opportunity to stop by and meet the captain, as well as the precinct's Neighborhood Coordination Officers (NCOs).

Captain Wise is the first female captain and person of color to lead the 108 Precinct. She has been in the NYPD for nearly two decades. Prior to her appointment as Captain, she was second in command as the executive officer at the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights and was also an executive officer at the 108 Precinct in 2015.
