Spring is here! Flowers are blooming, trees are leafing out, and now it is time to celebrate our Earth and the wildlife returning back to New York City after this chilly winter! Check out our April environmental education programs to discover Gantry Plaza's natural wonders!

Community Science Day: Oyster Monitoring 

Thursday, April 14th
Time: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

April is Community Science Month! Come participate in collecting data for the Billion Oyster Project! We'll clean, monitor, and explore Gantry Plaza State Park's oysters in this hands-on program.

 Ages 5 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Where: Oyster monitoring will take place at Gantry Plaza State Park on the Fishing Pier (Pier 4) by the intersection of Center Blvd and 50th Ave.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our staff and participants, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:

  • Social distancing and mask wearing will be required.

  • Pre-registration through Eventbrite is recommended to ensure space is available. Tickets are required for ALL people attending the event. Please reserve one ticket per person.
