48th Ave. Pollinator Meadow Volunteer Day

Registration required!! - https://signup.com/go/yhusbbO

Last fall, HPPC and Newtown Creek Alliance (NCA) planted a 3,300 pollinator meadow on the medians on 48th Ave. between Center Blvd. & 5th St. This garden was planted in collaboration with PS/IS 78 and Hunters Point Community Middle School to provide habitat for native species and provide opportunities for the community to come together to celebrate and learn about urban ecology.

This year we are continuing our partnership with NCA to maintain the meadow and we need some volunteers to help out!! All details for volunteer days can be found on our SignUp site.

Please bring your own pair of gloves if you have one. You should also bring your own water bottle, wear a mask, comfortable clothing, and closed toed shoes. All volunteers must have also completed HPPC's volunteer waiver (via the SignUp website).

You may sign up for as many as you want, but please DO NOT sign up for shifts if you will not be able to make them. We have strict limits on the number of people that are able to attend so if you sign up for a date and do not attend, it severely limits our ability to lead efficient and effective volunteer days. If you sign up and need to cancel that is okay, please just give us a day or two heads up.
